These core values are at the heart of Camp Gesher

Building Friendships & Positive Identity

Our name Gesher means bridge. At Camp Gesher we build bridges to friendship. We do this by spending a lot of time bonding while we explore, play, and share together. We focus on appreciating everyone for their uniqueness. We learn that everyone is a critical part of our community and depend on each other during trust games and obstacle challenges. Cooperative challenges and play are emphasized, and competition is minimized. Campers leave camp with lasting friendships, greater social skills, and lots of positive feelings of self worth.

Creating Meaningful Connections

Connection to each other, connection to the natural world, and connection to Judaism.

Fun & Exploration

Informal Jewish education is achieved through fun, discovery, and meaningful experiences. Learning happens all day long without campers realizing it.

Rising to New Challenges

Campers are encouraged to try new things and go out of their comfort zone. We offer such a variety of activities, every camper will have something new to explore. We strive to help every camper leave at the end of each day feeling a sense of accomplishment and pride in everything they tried.

Staying Safe

Safety is our highest priority at camp and we take this extremely serious. We take every precaution to ensure the highest level of safety and care for each child in how we hire, in our training, and how we set up camp activities and spaces. Children are supervised at all times. The camp director undergoes CPR and First Aid training each year. All staff have a basic first aid training, and often many of the counselors already have CPR and First Aid training as well. We stay connected at all times through cell phones and walkie talkies whenever a group is away from the Havurah.

We have emergency procedures in place and a doctor on call very close to the Havurah.
